Against warm autumnal florals and an intimate, light-filled setting, Rebecca wore Nelly’s deep sweetheart corset and voluminous rich tulle skirt, finished with a graceful side slit and dramatic floral embroidery. How did you know your Mira Zwillinger dress was ‘the one’?
I tried on a few Mira gowns before the Nelly but as soon as I put it on it felt like it wasmade for me! It made me feel so beautiful and special, like I was meant to feel on mywedding day
What was most important to you when choosing your wedding gown – and why?
David and I are both Jewish, so having an Israeli designer was very important to me. I also really wanted a gown that stood out and was different than what we normally see
How did you feel when you tried on your Mira Zwillinger gown for the first time — after it was custom-made to your exact measurements?
Fit like a glove! I didn’t want to take it off. It was so stunning I couldn’t stop staring atthe details or looking at myself in the mirror!
What’s one thing you learned during the process of finding your gown — that you’d love future brides to know?
There are so many gorgeous gowns out there, but find the one that you cant live without! Just like finding your partner.
What are 3 tips you’d give to any bride planning her big day?
- Don’t sweat the small stuff
- Have a second pair of shoes for dancing (I did platform Michael Kors sneakers – so cute and fun)
- Take a moment every couple hours to look around at your guests and soak it all in
If you had matching accessories (like a veil or topper), how did they enhance your bridal look and bring your vision to life?
My topper made it feel like I had two dresses! I wore the topper for the ceremony and cocktail hour, and then when i took it off for reception it was a whole new look. it was so much fun to be able to show off my gown in two different ways.
Looking back, is there one mistake you made during the planning process — and what would you recommend future brides to avoid?
I don’t feel like I made any mistakes honestly, I just made myself a list and chipped away at it until the day came. It made things very manageable for me. I would just say to stay organized and you won’t drown in the minutia
