How did you know your Mira Zwillinger dress was ‘the one’?
I loved the dimensional floral appliqué and the train. I remember thinking I had never seen a dress quite like it, which made it feel so special.
What was most important to you when choosing your wedding gown – and why?
I originally thought I wanted something very simple and elegant – no lace, no florals – but once I started trying on dresses, I realized I was drawn to gowns with more intricate details and personality
What’s one thing you learned during the process of finding your gown – that you’d love future brides to know?
Keep an open mind and try on dresses outside of your original expectations. I went insaying I didn’t want anything floral or lace, and ended up choosing a very floral gown
What are 3 tips you’d give to any bride planning her big day?
- Take a private moment for just you and your spouse to take it all in-we had a 15minute private dinner in between cocktail hour and our first dance, and it was one of myfavorite memories.
- Choose details that feel personal to you-those are what guests remember most. And keep in mind any decor you want to invest in rather than rent like vases, coffee table books, napkin rings, etc. could also become some of your first family heirlooms. For example, my mom thrifted antique crystal bowls for our match box displays, which now sit on our coffee table in our apartment in New York.
- Lean intoyour destination and season. We had fun incorporating all the New Orleans traditionsand Spring elements. I’m from Louisiana, so we did the second line with a brass band,had a hurricane drink escort display, and had all local cuisine.
- Also a bonus tip is toleverage AI for budgeting, mockups, organization, invoice management, etc. With all thetechnology available, planning a wedding in 2026 is so different than it used to be!
If you had matching accessories (like a veil or topper), how did they enhance your bridal look and bring your vision to life?
The Mira cathedral veil and the Messa robe added to a more cohesive bridal look.
Looking back, is there one mistake you made during the planning process – and what would you recommend future brides to avoid?
This is something small where hindsight is 20/20, but looking back we probably needed half the quantity for all the custom items we ordered. Plus I wish we had leaned more into subtle personalizations and my new last name and initial rather than our monogram and date. We now have so many custom cocktail napkins, cups, aprons, and koozies that never got used.
