How did you know your Mira Zwillinger dress was ‘the one’
I knew instantly after trying on countless dresses that this was the one! I never thought I would actually get that gut feeling that you always hear about, but sure enough, I immediately pictured myself walking down the aisle in it and knew that the search was over. The hand sewn details are truly a work of art, and in my opinion, nothing else I tried on was worthy of the occasion. I think the Mira details and artistry truly honor the care, effort, and intention that go into bringing such an important day to life.

What was most important to you when choosing your wedding gown and why?
a. I have always been obsessed with floral design in my everyday life and the joy that flowers bring me, and that has naturally translated to my love of florals in fashion as well. The saying "look good, feel good" couldn't be more true - I think that in fashion, there is nothing more joyful than florals, and pairing that feeling with incredible craftsmanship and hand-sewn artistry has always been my vision for my wedding dress.
b. Going into the dress shopping process, all I knew was that I wanted LOTS of florals incorporated in my dress- but I wasn't exactly sure what that would look like. I tried on countless floral lace gowns, plain gowns with floral jackets, and more full 3D floral dresses - all very stunning gowns - but they didn't quite nail exactly what I was looking for. The Mira gown finally brought my foggy vision to life and it was a clear yes!

How did you feel when you tried on your Mira Zwillinger gown for the first time after it was
custom-made to your exact measurements?
Stepping into the finished, tailored gown - the one I would wear as I walked down the aisle - was so emotional for me! It was even more perfect than I imagined and it got me so excited for the big day. I felt so confident in my choice of gown, and reaching this milestone gave me the sense of relief and the confidence boost that I needed heading into the final innings of the planning process. It was the opposite feeling of buyers remorse - coming from a very indecisive person when it comes to clothing and outfit choices, it felt SO good to finally step into the dress and be so sure of my decision. I was so proud of myself!!

What’s one thing you learned during the process of finding your gown that you’d love future brides to know?
Do not settle!! And start your search as soon as possible to avoid stress and to avoid settling for something that you aren’t in love with just because you’re stressed. You will know when you’ve found the dress.

What are 3 tips you’d give to any bride planning her big day?
- Try and map out responsibilities early on in the planning process-communication is KEY between you and your wedding planner, family members, maid of honor, etc., and simply asking “who is supposed to do this?” is so important. I went into the planning process blind, as I didn’t have any close friends or family that had planned a wedding before, and I learned quickly that the sooner you start digging into the nitty gritty details, the better. It is never too early to think about those details.
- Don’t let social media or outside influence stress you out and make you feel like you aren’t doing enough. There were many times where I felt overwhelmed because I hadn’t started some crazy (and expensive) wellness routine heard another bride talking about, or that I needed more party favors or random junk I’d see onInstagram. Instead of comparing yourself to everyone else and their ideas, focus on-and be confident in-the decision and prep that YOU do,, and understand that you can’t do it all. Don’t waste tine and money trying to do everything you see!
- Sort of building on my #2 answer, I had the most fun deciding which of the countless possible details I wanted to include in my wedding as the “icing on the cake”- not absolutely necessary details, but the ones that I think our guests will remember most. My favorite of these details started with including a live watercolor guest portrait artist, which was so much fun and gave our guests a mini work of art to bring home with them. We also had a stunning, professionally made coffee table book made with our engagement pictures for our guests to sign at the wedding (which we received so many compliments on), and lastly, espresso martinis flowing for everyone as they entered out after-party, which really kept the hype going late into the night.

If you had matching accessories (like a veil or topper), how did they enhance your bridal look and bring your vision to life?
The topper is what sealed the deal for me. I had already fallen in love with the beautiful strapless gown as-is, but when we added the topper that molded seamlessly to the dress, it turned it into a completely unique one-of-a-kind gown, and I loved that I was able to truly make it my own unique look. I had never seen this exact combination before which I loved. The details on the topper were so stunning and dainty, and they came out so beautifully in the pictures. I felt like it was the final touch that I was looking for to bring my vision to life.

Looking back, is there one mistake you made during the planning process and what would you recommend future brides to avoid?
The only thing I would change would be staying more organized and getting started on the details earlier than I did. One tip I wish I had done would be to create a brand new email address just for wedding planning purposes, to keep everything in one place. Maintaining an organized folder structure is so important!
