BRIDEOFTHEWEEK: Kimia Sadeghi

Glamorous Persian beach wedding
Presenting Our #MZBride Spotlight: A Persian princess meets island goddess—that’s the only way to describe Kimia’s unforgettable wedding celebration. From a Hawaiian-themed welcome dinner and a K-Pop night to a traditional Korean tea ceremony, every moment honored her multicultural roots with style and heart.
But it was her glamorous Persian beach wedding that truly stole the show—set against the breathtaking Hawaiian coast, and brought to life in the shimmering artistry of her custom Mira Zwillinger Karla gown, complete with a matching veil and bespoke strap detail.

Dive into the full story to see how culture, couture, and coastal beauty came together in a wedding like no other!
How did you know your dress was 'the one'?

I knew it was 'the one' when I felt the way it fit to my skin. I never thought that I would
find a dress that felt so natural on me. When I first tried the dress, I liked it, but I knew I
didn't feel super comfortable in strapless dresses. When I tried on a different MZ dress with an asymmetrical strap, it was beautiful, but it didn't fit my vision for a beach wedding gown. The lady helping me shop at NWLA suggested to ask MZ to make a custom strap for the Karla dress I liked with the asymmetric strap inspired from the other gown I tried on, making it the best of both worlds for me!

How did you start planning your wedding? What were the first steps?

Even before we got engaged, we had light discussions about our wedding hopes. Since I was a little girl, I always dreamed of getting married on the Big Island of Hawai'i where I was born. While we were dating, we once visited the Mauna Lani, so when we thought about potential venues, we were already determined to have the wedding there. Our first step was to first secure the wedding venue, hopeful to have our wedding on our 3rd anniversary. Our second step was to interview wedding planners as we felt that it was the most important wedding vendor to have a great relationship with!
What did you feel when you tried on your custom gown for the first time?
I was seeking a dress that was lightweight but elegant, one that I could wear on the beach, and one that fit my body type. When I put on the dress, it felt like it was meant for my skin - I was super confident and happy in it from day 1!

3 advice and tips that you would give to all our future brides?

1. Do your research and ask lots of questions!

2. Making your wedding your own requires creativity and resourcefulness. Don’texpect your vendors to do that part for you!

3. Remember what’s important! Don’t get carried away with the details and remember to cherish the meaning of the moment.

If you had to describe your wedding theme, what name would you give?

Each day had a different theme. We had a Hawaiian themed welcome dinner, a Korean tea ceremony, a K-Pop night, and our wedding day! I would describe our wedding day asa “Glamorous Persian beach wedding” – blending Hawaii’s natural beauty with glamorous Persian traditions.

In what way did the matching accessories (e.g. matching veil, gloves) bring yourbridal vision to life alongside your gown?

The matching veil made it look like flowers were scattered behind my train as I walked, which I adored. The other benefit to choosing my matching veil was that it also took out the stress of looking for a veil-it was so obvious they went well together!

The custom strap is what the “missing” piece of the gown was for me. As much as I lovedthe gown, I knew I didn’t feel most comfortable in a strapless dress. So the customstrap made the decision a deal maker for me! The bonus being a touch of “uniqueness”that I craved. A one of a kind dress was a dream come true!

A masterpiece of bridal design that celebrates artistry and elegance in every detail. Three differently sized flowers cascade together, creating a mesmerizing tapestry of floral abundance. Dotted with delicate clear crystals, the petals shimmer softly, adding a touch of magic to the gown’s ethereal beauty. The deep ivory tones of the skirt and bodice create a warm, romantic hue that flatters every bride.

A distinctive feature of the Karla gown is the stunning hemline, where intricate floral appliqués are thoughtfully arranged to create a breathtaking finish. This artistry extends seamlessly into the signature train, leaving a trail of elegance with every step.

A true stroke of genius, the Karla gown is for the bride who desires nothing less than perfection on her special day. Step into timeless beauty, step into the Karla.
